Device health
Status, cycles, temperature and fill levels for every unit, across every site.
Techlance Medical Technologies. Incubated at IIT Roorkee.
Techlance builds patented sanitary napkin incinerators, connected sanitary bin sensors and the software that monitors them, for schools, workplaces, hospitals and CSR programmes.
The problem
Most institutions still rely on open bins, manual handling and fixed cleaning rounds. Workers are exposed, restrooms overflow, and nobody can show what was done.
used sanitary pads are discarded in India every day, an estimate that keeps rising as access improves.
of women report throwing used pads into common household bins, where sanitation workers sort them by hand.
US states and the District of Columbia had laws requiring period products in schools by July 2024, adding restrooms to service.

MAS sanitary napkin incinerator
The MAS system destroys used pads on the spot, inside the restroom, so no one has to carry or sort them. A treated exhaust and a small ash tray are all that leave the machine.
| Model | Per load | Per day | Size (H × W × D) | Weight | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| INCI-Nano | 1–5 pads | ~100 | 520 × 230 × 230 mm | ~15 kg | Offices, small schools |
| INCI-Mini | 5–10 pads | ~150 | 600 × 300 × 300 mm | ~20 kg | Colleges, factories, clinics |
| INCI-Ultra Slim | 10–15 pads | ~200 | 640 × 310 × 310 mm | ~25 kg | Hostels, hospitals, campuses |
Built and tested, not just drawn
A clip-on sensor for standard sanitary bins. It reports how full each bin is, whether it smells and how often it is used, so hygiene crews stop visiting empty bins and catch busy restrooms before they overflow.
Bins under 40% move to a later route automatically.
Techlance platform
Our devices report to a single cloud platform, so facility teams, service partners and CSR sponsors see the same live picture.
Status, cycles, temperature and fill levels for every unit, across every site.
Warnings before a heater, sensor or battery fails, so service happens before a breakdown.
Automatic impact summaries: sites covered, pads safely disposed, uptime. Ready for sponsors and audits.
Daily service routes built from real fill data, with proof of every visit.

Our story
Techlance began as a question two engineers kept asking: why is menstrual waste still carried out by hand? The answer became a patented machine, then a company, and now a connected hygiene platform.
Incubated at TIDES, IIT Roorkee, with a ₹10 lakh NIDHI PRAYAS grant. Company incorporated. Patent No. 383010 granted.
Working prototype completed and smoke-tested. First installations at IIM Sirmaur and EssDee Industries.
DPIIT startup recognition and ISO 9001:2015 certification. Semi-finalist on Shark Tank India, Season 4.
BinSense sensors and the Techlance platform enter early access, with pilots opening in Texas.
Electronics engineer (IOIT Pune) and MBA gold medallist (IIM Sirmaur). Inventor on three granted patents, Aegis Graham Bell Award 2023. Leads product, technology and partnerships.
Chemical engineer (NIT Surat) and MBA (IIM Sirmaur), formerly with Tata Consulting Engineers. Built Techlance's early sales pipeline and R&D roadmap.
FAQ
Used pads go into a sealed combustion chamber where a ceramic heater burns them at high temperature. Flue gases pass through filtration before release, and what remains is a small amount of ash in a removable tray.
INCI-Nano handles about 100 napkins a day, INCI-Mini about 150 and INCI-Ultra Slim about 200. Most offices and small schools start with Nano or Mini; hostels, hospitals and large campuses usually choose Ultra Slim or several units. Tell us your headcount and we will size it for you.
Empty the ash tray during routine cleaning and keep the vent pipe clear. We recommend a periodic service check of the heater, sensors and filters, which we can arrange as an annual maintenance contract.
Menstrual hygiene and sanitation projects commonly fall under health care and sanitation activities in Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013. Confirm eligibility with your CSR team; we provide installation records and impact reports.
BinSense is a clip-on sensor for sanitary bins that reports fill level, odour and usage. It is in early access, with pilots open to hygiene-service companies and facilities in Texas, USA.
No. Techlance devices measure the bin and the machine, never people. There are no cameras or microphones, and no personal data is collected.
